Short-Term Recovery and Respite Stays
Short-term stays are available for older adults who need a safe, supportive place after a hospitalization or surgery, or when a family caregiver needs temporary relief. Recovering alone after hip, knee, or back surgery may increase the risk of falls, missed medications, and delayed recognition of health changes.
During a short-term stay, support may include:
• Assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Medication assistance according to the resident’s care plan
• Fall-prevention measures and observation for changes in condition
• Nutritious meals, housekeeping, and daily comfort
• Coordination with physicians, home health, physical therapy, and occupational therapy
• Temporary respite for family caregivers
Admission is based on an individual assessment, care needs, and room availability. Skilled nursing and therapy services are coordinated with appropriately licensed outside providers when ordered.
